Improvisations with Anna Huber & Fritz Hauser
"What the drumset means to Fritz Hauser, the body means
to Anna Huber. While
he evokes surprising noises and rhythms from multifarious objects, she
creates astonishing images and forms her limbs into bizarre figures. In
the
process it becomes clear how perfectly Anna Huber and Fritz Hauser harmonize
artistically. Although chance also plays a part in such spontaneous
(inter)actions, both offer fine, clear sound/dance impressions. Light
as a
shuttlecock the dancer tiptoes to rolling rattles, is then practically
swept
onto the wall or allows herself to be pulled to the floor by her heavy
arms
via drum sounds and grinding noises, as though each tone were an extra
weight on her spread-out hands. With clear signs she provokes new shifts
in direction and thus brings tension and surprise to the common
improvisation... one would have liked to have seen more.
